Questions people actually ask.
Short answers about what Fikar costs, what it can see, where it runs and how to get rid of it.
Is Fikar free?
Yes, and there is nothing to buy later. No account, no trial, no sign in, no subscription. You run one command and they are there.
Does Fikar work on Windows, or only on Mac?
Both. The Mac build needs macOS 13 or newer on Apple Silicon, and the Windows build runs on Windows 10 and 11. The same reminders, the same languages and the same characters are on both.
What languages does Fikar speak?
13: Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Urdu, Odia and Assamese. Each one is a separate set of lines rather than a translated interface, so each has its own word for water and its own way of telling you off.
Does Fikar collect anything about me?
No. It reads exactly two things from your computer: how long since you last touched the keyboard, and your battery percentage. It never sees your screen, your keystrokes or your files. There is no account and no server holding anything about you.
Can I make it look like someone I know?
Yes. Give Fikar one photograph and it builds the whole character out of it, standing, walking and in four moods. That runs on your own machine and the picture is never uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
Why does Windows Defender flag Fikar?
Because the app is not code signed. A signing certificate costs money every year and Fikar is free, so it does not have one, and Defender treats any unsigned new program with suspicion. The code is the same code you can read in the repository. If Defender quarantines it, you can restore it from Protection History and allow it.
Can I change what they say?
Yes. Their lines live in the app and can be rewritten from the settings window, which matters most in the languages still marked as drafts.
How do I uninstall Fikar?
On Windows, right click the tray icon and choose Uninstall Fikar, which removes the app, the autostart entry and every setting. On Mac, quit from the menu bar and delete Fikar from your Applications folder. The terms page has the exact commands to leave nothing behind at all.
Does Fikar need an internet connection?
Only to check whether a newer version exists, a few times a day, and you can switch that off. Everything else works with no network at all.
Is there an iPhone or Android version?
No. Fikar is a desktop app on purpose: it is trying to catch you at the machine you have been sitting in front of for six hours, which is not your phone.
